Athabasca RCMP seek public’s assistance in identifying shoplifter

Athabasca, Alberta –Sept. 2, 2021, at approximately 12:03 p.m., Athabasca RCMP received a call for service regarding a shoplifting incident that occurred at the Whisky Store in the 4800 block of 50 Street.

An unknown female entered the Whisky Store, gathered an assortment of liquor bottles, and placed them on the counter. The female then left the store and returned to a vehicle, which was parked in the back alley. The same female returned to the front of the store in a grey Dodge Charger. The licence plate had been covered with what is believed to be duct tape.

The female entered the Whisky Store and grabbed the liquor bottles and fled the store and scene, south on Highway 2.

The suspect is described as tall and slim, and was wearing all black with a black headscarf during the incident. The suspect was stated as having a Russian like accent as well as a tattoo of what appeared to be a marijuana plant on her right forearm. The value of the stolen liquor is just over $150.
