Lethbridge Police recover stolen vehicles, two charged

Lethbridge, Alberta – The Lethbridge Police Service, with the assistance of Cardston RCMP and Blood Tribe Police, have recovered six stolen vehicles and have charged two individuals with a dozen offences.

Police located two males in a stolen car on Sept. 21, 2021 in the 1700-block of Mayor Magrath Drive South. Their arrest and the subsequent investigation resulted in police identifying the location of the other vehicles, stolen recently from two Lethbridge auto dealers.

Co-ordination with Cardston RCMP and Blood Tribe Police allowed LPS to recover the vehicles, with a total value of $250,000, and identify the subjects responsible for several break-and-enters and thefts of license plates in Lethbridge and surrounding area.

Kirby Mills, 29, of Lethbridge, has been charged with: five counts of theft of motor vehicle; two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000; break and enter to commit theft; break and enter to steal motor vehicle; trafficking in stolen property over $5,000; and theft under $5,000.

Isaiah Sterling Acko, 37, of Lethbridge, has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Both were released from custody to appear in court Nov. 30, 2021.

The investigation is ongoing with further charges pending. No further details will be released at this time.
