UPDATE: Deceased person, found in abandoned trailer in Rockyview County, identified as Calgary woman

Airdrie, Alberta – Alberta RCMP Major Crimes have identified the deceased female who was located in the abandoned trailer on Sept. 30, 2021 as Myra Dela Cruz Paule (40) of Calgary.

The autopsy has been completed and Alberta RCMP Major Crimes continue to work closely with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The circumstances surrounding Myra’s death are believed to be suspicious.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes are asking for anyone who may have information regarding who was in possession of the trailer and the location of the trailer the night of Sept. 26, 2021 through the morning of Sept. 27, 2021, or if they saw the trailer being towed during that time, as well as details regarding the vehicle towing it, to contact the Airdrie RCMP at 403-945-7267, or your local police.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes seeking public assistance in suspicious death investigation near Airdrie

BACKGROUND

Airdrie, Alberta — On Sept. 30, 2021, at 6:13 p.m., Airdrie RCMP received a report from Rocky View County that a motorist had called in an abandoned utility trailer on Township Road 252 and Range Road 283. When a tow truck arrived to tow the trailer, further examination led to the discovery of human remains inside. Police were subsequently notified.

Airdrie RCMP attended the location near Township 252 and Range Road 283, northeast of the Calgary City limits between Conrich and Delacour, Alta. Airdrie RCMP confirmed that human remains were in the trailer and secured the scene.

The trailer is described as:

· home made utility trailer

· camouflage paint

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes have taken over carriage of this investigation, with the assistance of RCMP Forensic Identification Services and Airdrie RCMP General Investigation Section. The investigation has determined the human remains are believed to be those of a female and an autopsy is to be completed this week by the Calgary Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes are asking for anyone who may have information about the trailer or have seen the trailer in the Calgary or surrounding area, as well as anyone who may have dash cam footage in the area of Township 252 and Range Road 283 between Sept. 24, 2021- Sept. 27, 2021, to contact the Airdrie RCMP at 403-945-7267, or your local police.
