Kelowna RCMP, BC Coroners Service and Kelowna Fire Department investigate fatal house fire

Kelowna, BC – Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit continues to work alongside the Kelowna Fire Department and the BC Coroners Service to investigate the cause of a fatal house fire.

On October 11, 2021 just before 6:00 a.m., Kelowna RCMP received a request to assist the Kelowna Fire Department at a fully engaged structure fire at a residence in the 100 block of Timberline Road. Due to the structural damage of the residence and the danger posed by the roof collapse as a result of the fire, crews were unable to enter and conduct a search.

On October 13, 2021, Fire crews and RCMP fire investigators continued to search the affected residence for any occupants and located the remains of a deceased individual.
