Lethbridge Police seize weapons, stolen property and drugs, several individuals arrested

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police charged several individuals and seized weapons, stolen property and a small amount of drugs in connection with a search warrant executed Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021.

A search warrant was obtained for a home in the 400-block of 12 B Street North following public complaints about possible illegal activity there, and police observation of heavy foot, bicycle and vehicle traffic to the home consistent with the same.

The warrant was executed by the Lethbridge Police Service Crime Suppression Team, with the assistance of the Priority Crimes, patrol and K9 units. Seized was stolen property including two bicycles, various assorted power and other tools and two-way radios. Also seized were brass knuckles and bear spray, more than 75 unknown pills, and small amounts of methamphetamine, MDMA (Ecstasy) and fentanyl along with paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

Several individuals were arrested inside of the home. All were released from custody with court dates set for early December.

Janice Renee Johnston, 47, of Lethbridge, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unauthorized possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon.

Tony Douglas Johnston, 27, of Lethbridge, was charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000, as was Aeden Betts, 20, of Lethbridge.

Betty Hancock, 49, of Raymond, was arrested on 11 outstanding warrants for various offences, while Steven Quebec, 44, of Lethbridge, was charged with failure to comply with a release order.
