Breton RCMP investigate fatal collision on Alberta Highway 616

Brazeau County, Alberta – On Oct. 27, 2021, shortly before 5 p.m., Breton and Thorsby RCMP received the report of a multi-vehicle collision involving two passenger vehicles. The collision occurred west of Breton on Hwy 616 at range road 43.

Breton and Throsby RCMP, along with the RCMP Criminal Collision Investigative Team (CCIT), Emergency Medical Services, the local fire department and STARS Air Ambulance attended the location. Two vehicle occupants were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Breton RCMP continue to investigate this collision with the assistance of an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist.

The name and ages of the deceased’s will not be released.


Traffic flow is impacted in both directions along Hwy 616 between Range Road 43 and Range Road 44 with onsite detour signage at this time.
