Parkland RCMP investigate fatal collision involving stolen vehicle

Lac Ste Anne County, Alberta – On Oct. 27, 2021, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Parkland RCMP received a 911 call of a single vehicle collision in the area of Lakewood Estates, Lac Ste Anne County.

Parkland RCMP attended the scene with the assistance of Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

Preliminary investigation revealed that the involved vehicle was a white SUV recently stolen from Edmonton. It had allegedly left the roadway, rolled onto its roof, and become lodged between trees in a wooded area.

Two occupants were located inside the vehicle. A 25-year-old male from Paul First Nation, Alta. was transported to hospital by STARS air ambulance in critical condition. The second male occupant was declared deceased on scene by EMS. His identity has not yet been confirmed.

Parkland RCMP with the assistance of the RCMP Collision Analyst are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this collision.

Parkland RCMP are asking residents in the area to check their security cameras for any CCTV footage or dash camera footage that may be related to the white SUV in the hours before the collision.
