Edmonton Police lay charges in recent Homicide

Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Police Service has charged a 25-year-old Edmonton man in the death of a male in central Edmonton last week.

At approximately 7:10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, Northwest Division officers were contacted about a missing male. As part of their investigation, officers attended a residence in the area of 113 Avenue and 91 Street, where they subsequently located the male deceased.

An autopsy was completed by the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s office on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, and determined that Edgardo Vista, 57, died as a result of blunt force trauma. The manner of death is homicide.

On Monday, Nov. 1, 2021, Geraldo Munroe, 25, was arrested and charged with second degree murder.

Investigators have confirmed the two men are known to one another.
