Parkland RCMP Investigate After Victim Robbed at Gunpoint in Parkland County

Parkland County, Alberta – On Nov. 7 at approximately 1:50 AM, Parkland RCMP received a report from a male who had been robbed at gun point in the area of Township Road 270 and Range Road 515. The suspects had pointed a gun at the caller, took his wallet, cell phone, and a small amount of marijuana before fleeing.

RCMP Capital West Traffic members responded to the area with Parkland Detachment members and the suspect vehicle was located. RCMP attempted to stop the vehicle, but it fled and a pursuit was initiated. As the vehicle travelled into Edmonton, Alta., the pursuit was taken over by Edmonton City Police helicopter, Air 1.

Edmonton Police were able to arrest the suspects a short time later at a car wash on 162 St and 118 ave without incident. Parkland RCMP recovered a sawed-off shotgun, an air-soft pistol, and other items involved in the incident.

Four people were arrested in connection with the robbery with only two being charged as follows:

Caleb Marks(30) – Robbery x1 and Fail to Comply with Court ordered conditions x 4

Keegan Power(20) – Robbery x 1, Operation (of Conveyance) While Prohibited x 1, Fail to Comply with a Probation Order x 2 and Flight from Police x 1

Marks and Power were remanded into custody. Both are set to appear in Stony Plain Provincial Court on Nov. 10, 2021. The other two suspects were released without charges and the investigation is ongoing.

The victim in this case was known to the offenders and is believed to be an isolated incident. The victim sustained minor injuries during the altercation.
