Red Deer RCMP Police Dog Services training throughout community

Red Deer, Alberta – Over the next few days, Red Deerians may see some of our finest canines training throughout the community. The Red Deer RCMP’s Police Dog Services (PDS) unit will be out in the community as they take part in training exercises, seizing the opportunity before the snow arrives. PDS often trains the police dogs throughout Red Deer neighbourhoods in the spring, summer and fall months, and should not be a cause for alarm amongst residents.

The PDS unit wears olive green uniforms, similar to the more familiar RCMP navy blue uniforms. They drive dark coloured trucks with canopies, and of course, have their canine partners by their sides.

The Red Deer RCMP thanks the public for its cooperation and patience as we carry out our training. Please remember not to approach the officers – human or canine – while training, they’re hard at work to ensure they can help keep our community safe.
