Lethbridge Police charge man in connection with weapons complaint; “firearm pointed at them at a residence”

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police have charged a man with multiple offences following a weapons complaint Tuesday.

On Nov. 16, 2021 at approximately 5 p.m. police responded to a report that an individual had been threatened and a firearm pointed at them at a residence in the 2100 block of 5 Avenue North.

Police contained the residence, evacuated residents from a neighbouring property, and made multiple attempts to contact those inside. During the interaction with police, a male exited the home and attempted to dispose of a firearm into an adjacent property prior to being arrested about 7:15 p.m.

Matayo Graham, 25, of Lethbridge, has been charged with seven, weapons-related offences including pointing a firearm, and assault with a weapon, as well as uttering threats and resisting a peace officer. He remains in custody while awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
