Parkland County, Alberta – On Dec. 9, 2021 at approximately 3:17 p.m., Parkland RCMP with the assistance of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 16 and Range Road 24 in Parkland County.
Parkland RCMP attended the scene with EMS and Fortis.
The 50-year-old male driver from Parkland County was declared deceased on scene by EMS.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a truck was travelling east bound on Highway 16 when the vehicle suddenly cut across the median, went through both westbound lanes and struck a power standard.

Parkland RCMP with the assistance of the RCMP Collison Analyst continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
No further updates are anticipated and the name of the deceased will not be released.
