Wabowden RCMP investigate fatal two-vehicle collision on Manitoba Highway 6

Wabowden, Manitoba – On December 9, 2021, at approximately 11:20 am, Wabowden RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 6, approximately 50 km south of Ponton, Manitoba.

The initial investigation has determined that a SUV travelling south collided with a semi-truck travelling north on Highway 6.

Multiple fire departments, Emergency Medical Services and RCMP attended the scene.

The driver of the SUV, a 38-year-old female from Thompson, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the SUV has been identified as Danielle Adams, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Thompson.

The driver of the semi-truck, a 54-year-old male from the RM of Alexander, was not physically injured.

Road conditions were poor at the time of the collision.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision.

Wabowden RCMP along with the Criminal Collision Investigation Team and a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
