Fort Saskatchewan RCMP see an increase in AirTag complaints

Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta – Fort Saskatchewan RCMP have seen an increase in Apple AirTag complaints. The complaints are coming from concerned citizens who believe an AirTag device has been placed on their vehicle for tracking purposes.

An AirTag is an Apple device the size of a coin, that is physically placed on objects for tracking purposes. The AirTag was designed to be placed on small items such as keys, cell phones or in bags, and is paired to a cellular phone using Bluetooth. Using the FindMy App on an Apple device, the user can then use the radar feature to locate their misplaced item.

Should you notice an AirTag notification on your phone that is unrelated to your personal devices, please contact your local police agency for further instruction.
