Hinton RCMP lay charges for distribution of intimate images

Hinton, Alberta – On July 15, 2020, Hinton RCMP opened an investigation in relation to the posting of a video on-line containing intimate images without consent.

On Dec. 18, 2021, after a 17-month-long investigation, an 18-year-old male was arrested and charged with:

· Possession of child pornography

· Distribution of child pornography

· Distribution of intimate images

The male was 17 at the time of the alleged offences and as such cannot be named due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

He was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in Hinton Provincial Youth Court on Feb. 2, 2022.

As these matters are before the courts, no further details can be provided.

The Hinton RCMP would like to remind the public that it is an offence to distribute intimate images without consent.
