Red Deer RCMP make arrest after dangerous driving incidents

Red Deer, Alberta – A 28 year old Red Deer man is in police custody and facing a multitude of charges after several reported incidents of dangerous driving. On Dec. 22, 2021 at 9:53 p.m., Red Deer RCMP responded to a complaint of an impaired driver. RCMP had received complaints about the vehicle being stolen and driving dangerously earlier in the day. RCMP located the vehicle parked with the driver asleep. When police attempted to access the vehicle, the driver woke and attempted to flee the area, striking vehicles and a tree.

Later, police again observed the vehicle parked. When officers attempted to approach the vehicle, it rammed 3 police cars, several other parked vehicles and a fence. The driver exited the vehicle and attempted to enter another occupied vehicle however, police were able to arrest the suspect without further incident.

The Red Deer RCMP are thankful to report that no officers or members of the public were injured in this incident. We are also reminding the public to refrain from leaving vehicles running with the keys inside.
