Warrants issued for Nanaimo, B.C. man WANTED for Assault after suspect fails to appear in court

Nanaimo, BC – Warrants have been issued for the arrest of 32 year Dayton Anderson of Nanaimo for Break and Enter and Assault. The warrants were issued after Anderson failed to appear in Nanaimo Provincial Court.

The charges against Anderson stem from an incident on October 8, 2021, in which Anderson allegedly entered the home of a 52-year-old man and then assaulted him. The victim told police, he first saw the suspect walking through his home. When he went to confront him, the victim was punched in the face. The victim was standing on his sun deck when he was assaulted, and the force of the punch caused him to lose his balance and tumble off of his deck. While left shaken by the ordeal and sporting a split lip, he did not require medical treatment. Before the suspect fled, the victim managed to take several pictures of the individual.

The pictures that the victim took of the suspect were circulated to the local Block Watch program and within minutes, the unknown person was positively identified. The next day Anderson was located and arrested by police.
