George Gordon First Nation, Saskatchewan – On December 25, 2021, Punnichy RCMP received a report of a firearm discharge at a residence on the George Gordon First Nation.
Investigation determined that on the evening of December 24, 2021, an adult male entered the residence, discharged a firearm and demanded money from an occupant. He then assaulted another occupant, who received what are described as non-life-threatening injuries. The male then left the residence.
On December 29, 2021, Punnichy RCMP received a report that the exterior of the same residence had been damaged by the male.
As a result of these investigations, on January 13, 2022, Joshua Tyler Bitternose of George Gordon First Nation, was charged with:
1 count, assault with weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code
1 count, robbery with firearm, Section 344(1)(a.1), Criminal Code
1 count, break and enter, Section 348(1)(b), Criminal Code
2 counts, discharge firearm with intent, Section 244, Criminal Code
1 count, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, Section 92(1), Criminal Code
8 counts, possession of a firearm or ammunition while prohibited, Section 117.01, Criminal Code
1 count, careless use of a firearm, Section 86(1), Criminal Code
1 count, possess weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88, Criminal Code
1 count, possess firearm in motor vehicle, Section 94, Criminal Code
1 count, mischief over $5,000, Section 430(3), Criminal Code
A warrant has been issued for Joshua Tyler Bitternose’s arrest and Punnichy RCMP are actively attempting to locate and arrest him.
Joshua Tyler Bitternose is described as approximately 6′ tall and 250 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes. A photo of him is attached. He has connections to the George Gordon First Nation and Regina.
