Airdrie RCMP investigate attempted robbery with a firearm and an assault in the Luxstone neighborhood

Airdrie, Alberta – Airdrie RCMP are seeking public assistance in identifying two males responsible for an assault as well as an attempted robbery with a firearm.

On Jan. 24, 2022, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Airdrie RCMP received a report of an armed robbery. This occurred in the Luxstone neighborhood near St. Martin de Porres high school, specifically on the pathway between the townhomes on Luxstone Blvd. and the Luxstone Senior Living complex. The victim was walking when he was approached by two males who demanded money and then showed him what he believed to be a handgun. When the victim said he had no money the suspects fled on foot. The suspects are also believed to have been involved in a second assault which took place shortly after this incident.

Suspect 1 is described as:

· Medium colored skin

· Approximately 5’6 and a slim build

· Had a “slit” eyebrow (intentionally shaved gap in the eyebrow)

· Wearing a beige puffy jacket, black ski mask, black Nike Air Force shoes

Suspect 2 is described as:

· Medium colored skin

· Approximately 5’6 and a slim build

· Wearing all black clothing and black Nike Air Force shoes
