Edmonton Police seek public assistance identifying remains – IDENTIFIED

Edmonton, Alberta – Remains of man found deceased in 2020 have been identified based on a public tip after someone recognized this facial reconstruction. Thanks to the media and the public for their assistance in helping to solve this file, hopefully bringing some sense of resolution to the family.

BACKGROUND

Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying human remains found in the river valley in 2020.

On October 4, 2020, the remains of an unidentified male were found in an encampment in the Victoria Park area. Police have exhausted all investigative avenues to identify the male, including comparing the remains with outstanding missing persons files, and have not been successful.

As such, RCMP forensic artist Cpl. Jean Nault has created a facial reconstruction in the hopes that someone may come forward with information leading to the male’s identity.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the deceased male is asked to contact the Edmonton Police Service immediately at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.
