Winnipeg, Manitoba – On January 21, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a stabbing at a residence in the 400 block of Edgewood Street.
As officers arrived, a suspect fleeing the area was identified and taken into custody. Police quickly located a female victim in her forties inside the residence with serious injuries. She was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.
The Major Crimes Unit took over, and investigators determined that two family members became involved in a verbal argument when the victim was assaulted.
Alexzander TURNER, an 18-year-old male of Winnipeg, was charged with:
– Aggravated Assault
– Possession of a Weapon.
He was detained in custody.
