Central Alberta RCMP Crime Reduction Unit arrest male in stolen vehicle resulting in numerous charges

Buck Creek, Alberta – On. Jan. 19, 2022, the Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (CAD CRU) was working in the Breton/Thorsby area on an unrelated investigation when investigators identified a stolen pickup truck, which had been stolen from a business in Warburg, AB the day prior, travelling in the Buck Lake area on Highway 22.

Road conditions were extremely poor, however with the assistance of the RCMP Helicopter, the suspect vehicle was monitored until it stopped at a business in Breton, Alta., where the driver identified as Logan Davis (26) of Breton, was arrested without incident by the members of CAD CRU, with assistance from the Thorsby/Breton RCMP.

As a result of the investigation, Davis has been charged with:

• Possess stolen property over $5000

• Dangerous driving

• Possess weapon dangerous to public

• Unauthorized possession of ammunition

• Breach release order (x 5)

• Breach Probation (x1)

In addition to the new charges, Davis was arrested on three outstanding warrants.

After a judicial hearing Davis was remanded to custody and will next be appearing in Breton Provincial Court on Jan. 26, 2022.

As these matters are now before the courts, no further details regarding the investigation can be released.
