Autopsy complete in southwest Edmonton death

Edmonton, Alberta – An autopsy has been completed in the death of a female in southwest Edmonton.

Just before 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, police responded to the report of a sudden death at a residence in the area of James Mowatt Trail and 28 Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found a deceased female in her 40s in the residence. The death was deemed suspicious at the time, and Homicide Section took over the investigation.

On Thursday, Feb. 16, 2021, the Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on the female, and the cause of death is pending toxicology. At this time, the autopsy revealed no indication of foul play and the death is considered non-criminal.
