Innisfail RCMP respond to reported plane crash on ice covered Glennifer Lake

Red Deer County, Alberta – On Feb. 25, 2022, just after 2 P.M., Innisfail RCMP were dispatched to Glennifer Lake for a reported plane crash. Innisfail RCMP attended along with Red Deer County Emergency Services and EMS.

A plane was located on ice covered Glennifer Lake near range road 30. The lone pilot was un-injured.

Recovery efforts are underway to remove the plane off the ice.

Circumstances surrounding the un-intentional landing are not criminal in nature and the investigation has been concluded. Transportation Safety Board worked in partnership with the Innisfail Detachment.
