Edmonton Police seeking dash camera footage in suspicious death investigation

Edmonton, Alberta – Police are requesting citizens check for vehicle dashcam footage in relation to a suspicious death that occurred in southwest Edmonton.

At approximately 9:55 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2022, Southwest Branch patrol members responded to a weapons complaint at a residence in the area of Heath Road and Riverbend Road.

Upon arrival, police discovered 59-year-old Abdullah Shah outside a residence with life-threatening injuries. The male was transported to hospital by paramedics where he succumbed to his injuries.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, March 18, 2022. Homicide Section continues to investigate.

Investigators are looking to speak to the driver of a light-coloured Toyota 4Runner who was driving westbound on Heath Road on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 9:54 p.m.

Detectives are also hopeful that dash-cam footage from the area may assist with their investigation and are encouraging anyone that was driving in the area of Riverbend Road and Terwillegar Drive, on Sunday, March 13, between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., to please contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
