Charges laid in northwest Edmonton homicide

Edmonton, Alberta – Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section has charged a female in relation to the death of Harley Norman, 31 , that occurred in northwest Edmonton.

On Monday, May 2, 2022, City of Edmonton Transit Peace Officers located the accused Laura Blowers, 28, in the area of 106 Avenue and 95 Street after recognizing her from the incident that occurred on May 1, 2022. As a result, police were contacted, and Blowers was taken into custody.

On Wednesday, May 4, 2022, an autopsy completed by the Edmonton Medical Examiner determined that Norman’s cause of death was a single stab wound.

Blowers has since been charged with second degree murder.

Police are not looking for any additional suspects.


On Sunday, May 1, 2022, at approximately 11:30 a.m. police responded to the report of a weapons complaint in the area of 105 Street and 111 Avenue. Norman was located and transported to hospital by paramedics where he succumbed to his injuries.
