Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta – On May 10, 2022 at approximately 1:30 pm, Fort Saskatchewan RCMP received a complaint of a theft of an Amazon package that had been delivered to a private residence on 108 street in Fort Saskatchewan. The home owner was alerted to a motion detection on his front door camera, and called the RCMP right away with a description of the adult male suspect, as well as the suspect vehicle.
Fort Saskatchewan RCMP made immediate patrols and located the suspect vehicle in a commercial parking lot off 99 avenue. An adult male and an adult female were arrested on scene. A search of the vehicle recovered the stolen Amazon package as well as other pieces of mail taken from private residences.

The male and female have both been charged with:
· Theft of mail under $5000
· Theft under $5000
Both suspects were released to appear in Fort Saskatchewan Provincial Court on June 9, 2022.
Fort Saskatchewan RCMP wish to remind the public of the risks of leaving mail unattended. Personal information can be easily obtained through unattended mail. More recently, bank fraud has become the most common crime caused by theft of mail. If you are unable to pick up your mail or packages, ensure you have a trusted neighbour or family member looking out for your property in your absence.
