Rockyview County, Alberta – On May 14, 2022, at approximately 1:14 p.m., Airdrie Rural RCMP responded to a report of a shooting at a property in Rockyview County, Alta. Upon arrival, it was determined that there had been a verbal altercation which resulted in the suspect grabbing a firearm and shooting the victim in the leg. The suspect fled the scene.
STARS air ambulance attended and the victim was flown to a Calgary hospital where he underwent surgery. He is in stable condition.
The suspect, Nolan Ryan Wade (34), of Rockyview County, Alta., returned to the scene and surrendered to police. He was arrested without incident and has been charged with the following offences:
· Aggravated Assault
· Discharge a firearm with intent
· Pointing a firearm
· Careless use of a firearm
Wade was brought before a Justice and has been remanded into custody. He will appear in Airdrie Provincial Court on May 19, 2022.
