Cochrane RCMP investigate report of child luring; “11-year-old female was walking home”

Cochrane, Alberta – Cochrane RCMP are investigating a report of child luring, which occurred on May 30, 2022, at approximately 5:20 p.m.

An 11-year-old female was walking home in the area of Sunset Park and Sunset Way in Cochrane, Alta., when she was approached by a male. The male asked if she wanted to get into the back of his van, stating that he had an ice cream business. The female made a pretend call to her father and was able to walk away.

The male suspect is described as:

· 40-50 years old

· Medium build with a pot belly

· Shaggy brown hair which looked dyed

· Wearing a red and blue flannel shirt and jeans

The suspect’s vehicle is described as:

· A white, full sized van

· Potentially has a black roof rack

· Rusted wheel wells
