Airdrie RCMP respond to serious Collision on Alberta Highway 566 and Range Road 13 in Rockyview County

Rockyview County, Alberta – Airdrie RCMP are asking for the public to avoid the area of Highway 566 and Range Road 13 as they investigate a serious collision

At approximately 1:30 PM Airdrie RCMP and emergency services responded to a collision between a motorcycle and a minivan at the intersection of Hwy 566 and Range Road 13 West of Balzac. The driver of the motorcycle, a 39 year-old male was transported by STARS to hospital with serious, life threatening injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is continuing with assistance of an RCMP Collision Analyst and motorists are asked to avoid the area for the time being.

UPDATE

(4:38 pm) Emergency crews have completed their work at the scene of the collision on Hwy 566 and Range Road 13. Traffic flow has returned to normal and motorists can once again travel through the intersection in all directions.
