Airdrie RCMP investigate uttering threats and firearms complaint; “suspect had entered Walmart acting erratically”

Airdrie, Alberta – On June 21, 2022 at 5:58 p.m., Airdrie RCMP received a report that a lone suspect had entered Walmart acting erratically, verbally threatened staff and stated he had a firearm.

RCMP attended and prevented further access to the Walmart while they conducted a search of the area.

Ultimately, RCMP were able to identify and arrest the suspect, a 21-year-old Airdrie resident, 5 blocks away. The suspect remains in custody while RCMP continue to investigate this incident.

No firearms were observed by witnesses or seized by police.
