Claresholm RCMP lay weapons charges against repeat offender from Fort Macleod, Alberta

Claresholm, Alberta – In the early hours of June 22, 2022 Claresholm RCMP observed an abandoned vehicle on 7 Street and 51 Avenue in Claresholm. While officers made arrangements to have the vehicle towed, an unsecured rifle and ammunition were observed. These items were seized by officers. After officers had left the scene they were called back by the tow operator who reported that the vehicle owner had returned and was threatening the operator. Officers spoke to the reported vehicle owner who confirmed his identify as repeat offender Andrew Albert Watson (35) of Fort Macleod,

As a result of the investigation Watson has been charged with:

· Unauthorized possession of a weapon (x2)

· Unsafe storage of a firearm

· Fail to comply with release condition (x3) fr

· Uttering threats

Watson has been remanded in custody with his next court appearance set for June 23, 2022 at Lethbridge Provincial Court.
