Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police have charged a male with multiple offences after firearms, drugs, cash and stolen property were seized Thursday from a vehicle and residence.
A member of the K9 Unit attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of 18 Street and 2 Avenue North on June 23, 2022. The vehicle fled the scene but was located a short time later behind a residence in the 1900 block of 6 A Avenue North.
The driver was arrested with the assistance of members of the Patrol Division and High Risk Offender Unit. Upon arrest police noted two firearms inside the vehicle.
As a result of the arrest and subsequent search warrants on the vehicle and residence, members of the Property Crimes Unit seized three firearms – two of which had been sawed off and one of which was loaded and located directly beside the driver’ seat – along with a replica Glock airsoft handgun. Also seized was methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, psilocybin and prescription pills with a street value of about $9,000, as well as tools linked with earlier break-ins.
Vance Elton Pidborochynski, 32, of Lethbridge is charged with a total of 26 Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act charges, including four counts of breach of a release document stemming from earlier firearms and drug charges out of Pincher Creek. He is currently in custody and awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
