Edson RCMP re-arrest male for further property related offences

Edson, Alberta – On June 17, 2022, at approximately 4:00 pm, Edson RCMP received a complaint regarding an adult male who had entered a residence on Edson Drive and proceeded to damage property inside. The male was previously placed on conditions not to attend that same residence.

Edson RCMP arrived on scene and arrested the suspect. Devon Doerksen (27) of Edson was charged with break and enter, mischief and failing to comply with an Order. Doerksen was released from custody by a Justice of the Peace.

On June 22, 2022, Edson RCMP received multiple complaints of a male that was observed attempting to gain entry into vehicles in several residential areas around 3:00 am. Edson RCMP conducted an investigation throughout the day and were able to link several thefts from vehicles and a stolen bicycle to the same suspect.

Devon Doerksen (27) of Edson was charged with:

• theft under $5000 (x2)

• mischief (x5)

Doerksen is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on July 5th 2022. Doerksen currently has 22 charges pending before the Court.
