Stoney Plain RCMP on scene of fatal collision on Alberta Highway 43 in Lac Ste. Anne County – UPDATED

Lac St. Anne County, Alta. – Stony Plain RCMP have completed the scene examination and the roads were reopened July 10, 2022, at 1:15 a.m.. Stony Plain RCMP would like to thank the public for their patience while the scene examination was conducted.

The initial investigation indicates that a motorcycle was westbound on Hwy. 43 approaching the intersection with Hwy. 33. A southbound car entered the intersection and collided with the motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a 65 year old male from Sangudo was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two occupants from the car were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Stony Plain RCMP continue to investigate this incident. Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken with police are asked to call Stony Plain RCMP at 825-220-2000. BACKGROUND

Lac Ste. Anne County, Alberta – (8:42 PM MDT) Stoney Plain RCMP are currently on scene of a serious collision on Hwy. 43 at the intersection with Range Road 31A. One fatality has been reported.

Westbound traffic has been reduced to one lane. The intersection is blocked. Traffic is expected to be impacted for a few hours. An RCMP collision analyst is on scene assisting with the investigation.

Stoney Plain RCMP ask motorists to avoid the area to give our emergency crews room to work.
