Rocky View County, Alberta – In March 2022, RCMP Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (SADCRU) began a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation into a suspected drug dealer from Linden, Alberta who was believed to be trafficking drugs into Three Hills and Drumheller.
On July 4, 2022, Mandy Lynne Russell (40) of Linden was arrested with assistance from Strathmore RCMP and charged with the following:
• possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
• possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
SADCRU seized 24 grams of suspected fentanyl and 21.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine during the investigation.
Following a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Russell was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Drumheller Court on July 15, 2022.
At the time of her arrest, Russell was already facing charges for similar offences out of Drumheller and on a court ordered Release Order with conditions.
As this matter is now before the Court, no updates are anticipated.

BACKGROUND
Drug trafficking arrests in Village of Rosedale and Town of Acme; ” investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs in the Town of Linden”
Linden, Alberta – On Sept.30, 2020, the Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU) entered into an investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs in the town of Linden.
As a result of the investigation 38-year-old Mandy Russell was arrested in the village of Rosedale. She was found to be in possession of what is believed to be 5.2 grams of cocaine, 28.8 grams of fentanyl, 20 grams of Crystal meth and 11grams of MDMA(Ecstasy) and has been charged with four counts of trafficking under the CDSA. At the time of her arrest, a warrant had been issued for failing to appear on trafficking charges from another incident.
Mandy Russell remains in custody and will next be appearing on Oct. 23, 2020 in Drumheller Provincial Court.

On the same date, Mandy Russell’s common law partner 41-year-old Jason Lock of Linden was arrested in the town of Acme and found in possession of what is believed to be Crystal Meth and Fentanyl. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear on charges for possession for the purpose of trafficking from a previous incident, and is facing additional charges of resisting arrest, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of fentanyl.
After a judicial hearing, Jason Lock was released on $500.00 cash bail and will be appearing in Drumheller Provincial Court on Nov. 13, 2020.
