Lethbridge Police apprehend impaired driver, issue 24 tickets during traffic enforcement initiative

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police removed one impaired driver from the road and issued two dozen tickets for various infractions during a weekend traffic enforcement initiative.

The enforcement project, which will continue on random weekends over the next few months, is aimed at providing safer roads for all users, allowing residents more peace and quiet and alleviating demands on Patrol members. Public complaints about speeding, racing, stunting and loud vehicles have increased and the Traffic Response Unit (TRU) hopes the highly visible police presence will help reduce these behaviours.
