Airdrie, Alberta – On July 27, 2022, at 9:55 p.m., Airdrie RCMP responded to a report of a silver Dodge truck having struck a light pole in the Stonegate neighbourhood. A second report of a silver Dodge truck having struck a nearby residential garage (within the Stonegate neighbourhood) followed.

Police attended the residence and identified the driver and lone vehicle occupant as a Airdrie resident. The male was taken into custody and is facing a number of provincial charges including fail to remain at the scene of a collision, driving while unauthorized and operating am motor vehicle with expired registration. Alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor in the collision. The driver’s vehicle has been seized for 30 days and the driver issued a suspension under the Alberta Immediate Roadside Sanction Program.
