64-year-old Regina Male Charged with Sexual Assault, Interference

Regina, Saskatchewan – A 64 year-old male faces sexually related charges after investigation into allegations of sexual assault of a young person.

On June 18, 2022, police were dispatched to investigate the report of a sexual assault on a young person. It was learned that a sixty-four year-old male held a position of trust with the victim’s family and had sexually assaulted the youth. Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of the male.

Sixty-four year-old Edwin Dwight WOOLHETHER, of Regina, is charged with:

Sexual Assault of a Minor [271 CC];

Sexual Interference [151 CC]; and

Invitation to Sexual Touching [152 CC].

The accused made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.
