Winnipeg Police respond to shooting of 13-year-old teen; “he was assaulted, including being shot”

Winnipeg, Manitoba – On July 27, 2022, at 1:55 a.m., General Patrol officers, with the assistance of the K9 Unit, responded to the 500 block of Boyd Avenue for a report of a person who had been shot.

Upon arrival, officers located an injured 13-year-old male and applied emergency medical care, including the use of a tourniquet. He was transported to a hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

It is believed that a group in the area had confronted the victim, at which time he was assaulted, including being shot.
