Banff, Alberta – (August 6, 2022) Alberta RCMP Major Crimes continue to investigate the homicide that occurred on August 5, 2022.
The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Ethan Enns-Goneau of Banff.
John-Christopher Arrizza (22), of Banff, has been charged with second degree murder. Arrizza has been remanded into custody and will appear in Canmore court on August 10, 2022 via CCTV.
BACKGROUND
Banff, Alberta – On Aug. 5, 2022, at approximately 2:26 a.m., Banff RCMP were advised of an altercation which occurred at a local drinking establishment on Banff Avenue.
Upon arrival, an injured male was located. The 26-year-old male from Banff was transported to hospital where he was declared deceased. A 22-year-old male from Banff was taken into custody at the same location.
Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit have taken carriage of this investigation, with the assistance of Banff RCMP and the RCMP Forensic Identification Unit. The investigation continues and an update will be provided when further details can be released.
