Fort Macleod RCMP traffic stop leads to drug and weapons charges

Fort Macleod, Alberta – On July 26, 2022, Fort Macleod RCMP were conducting traffic enforcement in the Town of Fort Macleod when they encountered a male driver who had warrants issued by Calgary Police Service.

As a result of the traffic stop and subsequent arrests, police located:

· 18 grams of suspected Methamphetamine

· 2 grams of suspected Fentanyl

· 254 grams of Marihuana

· 3 prohibited weapons

Clayton Roger Doyle (30) of Claresholm, Alta., has been charged with:

· Possession of Schedule 1 drug (x2)

· Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling

· Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon (x3)

· Weapon possession contrary to an Order (x3)

· Resist/obstruct a peace officer

Cameron Leo Rasmussen (26) of Fort Macleod, Alta., has been charged with:

· Possession of Schedule 1 drug (x2)

· Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling

· Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon (x3)

· Resist/obstruct a peace officer

Both individuals have been released from custody on bail with conditions and their next court appearances are set for Aug. 24, 2022, in Fort Macleod Provincial Court.
