Edmonton Police seek public’s assistance identifying suspect in armed pharmacy robbery

Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a suspect in a central Edmonton pharmacy robbery.

On Sunday, April 11, 2021, at approximately 2:30 p.m. three male suspects allegedly entered a pharmacy in the area of 110 Avenue and 124 Street and threatened the pharmacist with an edged weapon. It was reported the group stole more than $7,000 of narcotics before fleeing the pharmacy on foot. The pharmacist did not report any injuries.

Two of the male suspects have since been identified and one of them, a 43-year-old man, passed away before police could lay charges. Warrants were issued for the other male, 36-year-old Liban Mohamud, who subsequently turned himself in to police on Thursday, June 30, 2022 and was charged with robbery.

Investigators continue to try to identify the third male and are hopeful someone may recognize him and come forward to police.

The suspect is described as a male of average height and build, and he was reportedly wearing gold rimmed sunglasses, a Toronto Blue Jays hat and a fur-lined black winter coat over a plaid jacket.
