Edmonton Police seek public’s assistance to identify suspect in sexual assault

Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a suspect in a sexual assault that took place in northwest Edmonton.

On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at approximately 11:40 a.m., a 29-year-old woman was out for a walk with her dog in the area of 135 Avenue and 107 Street when she was approached by a male. The male made derogatory comments to the woman before assaulting her. She was able to break away from the male only to have him chase after her; he caught up to her, but she was able to free herself and successfully flee from her attacker. The male and female were not known to one another.

The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern male with a slight accent in his late teens – early twenties, approximately 5’10”-5’11” tall and approximately 160 lbs. He was reportedly wearing a red t-shirt and beige shorts at the time of the attack.
