Cochrane RCMP locate over due traveler deceased; “traveling from Victoria to Calgary”

Cochrane, Alberta – On Aug. 19, 2022 at 3:10 p.m., Cochrane and Morley RCMP responded to a report of an over due traveler who was traveling from Victoria to Calgary. It was reported he was camping in the area near Seebee Dam. RCMP and RCMP Police Dog Services, along with Kananaskis Search and Rescue, attended the area and conducted a search by helicopter. The missing male was not located.

On Aug. 20, 2022, Search and Rescue started searching on the water at Seebee Dam. At approximately 9:30 a.m., Search and Rescue located the missing 29-year-old male, a resident of Victoria, B.C., deceased in the water.

The death is not deemed to be suspicious. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the deceased.

No further information will be provided.
