Cochrane RCMP respond to shots being fired at two males, from a vehicle

Cochrane, Alberta – On Aug. 17, 2022, following a break and enter in Cochrane, the RCMP responded to a report of shots being fired at two males from a vehicle on Stoney Nakoda First Nation.

Police located a stolen vehicle matching the description of the vehicle used in the shooting. A traffic stop was attempted and the vehicle fled from police. With assistance from Cochrane RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit and Police Dog Services, the stolen vehicle was located a short time later and two individuals were taken into custody. A stolen firearm was also recovered.

As a result, Malik Holloway (24) a resident of Stoney Nakoda First Nation, is charged with 26 offences, some of which include:

Discharging a firearm with intent (x2)

Pointing a firearm (x2)

Break and enter with intent to steal a firearm

Possession of a prohibited firearm

Holloway was also wanted by Calgary Police Service for unrelated firearms offences. He has been remanded into custody and will be appearing in Cochrane Provincial Court on Sept. 20. 2022.
