Thorsby RCMP arrest male for armed robbery at a business in Warburg, Alberta

Warburg, Alberta – On Aug. 12, 2022, at approximately 3:54 p.m., Thorsby RCMP received a report of an armed robbery that occurred at an area liquor store.

A lone male entered a local business in Warburg, brandishing a baseball bat demanding money from the cashier.

Thorsby RCMP obtained surveillance footage of the suspect and involved vehicle. Patrols were made in the area, and Thorsby RCMP located the vehicle shortly after.

Dustan Halliday (27) resident of Thorsby, Alta., was arrested and is facing multiple charges including:

Robbery

Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

Assaulting a peace officer (x2)

Commit an indictable offence, unlawfully have his face masked or disguised

Obstructing a peace officer in the execution of their duties

Fraudulent concealment

Following a judicial hearing, Dustan Halliday was released and is scheduled to appear on Sept. 14, 2022, in Breton Provincial Court.
