Fort Saskatchewan RCMP investigate another catalytic converter theft. this time near Tofield, Alberta

Tofield, Alberta – On August 11, 2022, Fort Saskatchewan RCMP received a complaint of multiple catalytic converters being stolen from a business on Range Road 185 and Township Road 532 near Tofield, Alta.

It was reported that catalytic converters were cut off 30 vehicles that were on the property some time between August 5 and August 8, 2022, causing significant loss to the company.

(File Photo) Catalytic converters contain platinum, rhodium and palladium, which are expensive metals.

As the investigation progressed, 6 of the catalytic converters were recovered and were identified by the distinct cut marks that matched the cut marks on the vehicles.

Charges are pending against a 44-year-old Edmonton male.
