Westlock RCMP execute search warrant and charge male with 64 charges related to drug trafficking and firearms

Westlock, Alberta – On Aug. 28, 2022, Westlock RCMP launched an investigation into allegations of drug trafficking in the Town of Westlock.

Further investigation resulted in Westlock RCMP obtaining a search warrant for a residence located in the 10000 block and 110 street area in Westlock. On Aug. 31, 2022, the search warrant was executed with the assistance of the RCMP Police Dog Service.

The search of the residence resulted in the following items being seized: quantities of suspected methamphetamine, Cocaine, GHB, 5 rifles, 4 shot guns (including one sawed off shotgun), crossbow, 5 air firearms, along with ammunition. During the search other drug and trafficking paraphernalia were seized along with a stolen license plate and laptop.

Darcy Allan Kandt (31), a resident of Westlock, was arrested at the residence and as a result of this investigation is being charged with:

· Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (x3)

· Possession of proceeds of crime of a value not exceeding $5,000

· Possession of stolen property of a value not exceeding $5,000 (x2)

· Possession of a restricted firearm (x9)

· Unauthorized possession of a firearm (x9)

· Unsafe storage of a firearm (x9)

· Possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number

· Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to an order (x30)

Dustin Travis Badke (34), and Tyler Cory Stump (24), both residents of Westlock, were arrested and have been charged with:

Possession of a controlled substance

Badke and Stump are scheduled to attend Westlock Provincial Court on Nov. 9, 2022.

As these matters are now before the courts, no further information can be provided.
