London, Ontario – A suspect has been identified and arrested in relation to an arson outside a church on Adelaide Street North on Friday, September 9, 2022.
There are no outstanding suspects.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional updates will be provided when they become available.

BACKGROUND
London, Ontario – (September 10, 2022) – London police are investigating after a fire was intentionally set outside of a church during a gathering last night.
On Friday, September 9, 2022, at approximately 8:40 p.m., police received a call to a church located at 360 Adelaide Street North in relation to a fire.
Police received information that approximately 50 people were inside the church when someone set a small fire outside, in close proximity to the church. The members of the congregation opened the doors and exited the building.
Once outside, individuals put out a fire, and located three vehicles in the parking lot with damaged tires. There were no reported injuries, and no damage to the church.
The suspect male was reportedly inside the church earlier in the evening and was asked to leave by staff members.
The investigation has been reassigned to members of the LPS Major Crime Section and is ongoing.
The suspect is described as male, Caucasian, between 45-55 years of age, thin build, medium height, with red receding hair. He was wearing blue vest with a light grey or white long-sleeved shirt and jeans. He was seen carrying a reusable grocery bag, and a flashlight.
